Kaitlyn San Miguel is a queer Filipino writer and publishing professional based in Jersey City. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English, journalism and media studies, and comparative and critical race

and ethnic studies from Rutgers University—New Brunswick in 2019. She obtained her Master of Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University in 2022.










Kaitlyn is now a production editor at Simon & Schuster, focusing on Atheneum Books for Young Readers and Beach Lane Books. They are also a freelance copyeditor and proofreader for Penguin Random House, HarperCollins Publishers, Simon & Schuster Children’s Book Publishing, and Astra House. In addition, they are an adjunct professor in the Master of Science in Publishing program at Pace University, teaching copyediting and proofreading.

Kaitlyn’s debut novel, Project Juni, a young adult novel in verse, will be published by Lerner/Carolrhoda Lab in 2027. Her poetry and short stories have been published in Bodega Magazine, Cosmonauts Avenue, petrichor, and Black Fox Literary Magazine. She is currently working on a young adult novel in verse and an adult fiction book. She is represented by Eric Smith at Neighborhood Literary.
